Moonbow (also known as “Moon Bow”) is an evenly balanced hybrid strain (50% indica/50% sativa) created by crossing the highly popular Zkittlez and Do-Si-Dos strains. Originally bred by Archive Seed Bank, this craft-cannabis standout is famous for its vibrant candy-like aroma, heavy resin production, and long-lasting potency.
A breakdown of what makes the Moonbow strain unique:
🧬 Genetic Lineage & Phenotypes
The strain inherits its fruity sweetness from Zkittlez and its deep, earthy, kushy structure from Do-Si-Dos. Archive Seed Bank has heavily refined the line, resulting in highly sought-after phenotypes like Moonbow #112, which is widely celebrated for its intense candy-gas flavor arc and elevated bag appeal.
🧠 Effects & Potency
-
- THC Levels: Typically ranges from 20% to 30%, making it an above-average, highly potent strain.
- The High: It begins with a slow-creeping, euphoric head high that boosts happiness and can cause random fits of laughter. As time passes, a relaxing physical body high washes over your limbs, often turning sedative in larger doses. It is highly regarded as a great evening strain to unwind or hang out in a relaxed setting.
👃 Aroma & Flavor Profile
- Smell: Reminiscent of a vintage candy shop—bursting with notes of sugary tropical fruit, wild berries, rainbow sherbet, and a chalky floral backend.
- Taste: A complex blend of sweet blackberry, zesty lime, and grape candy on the inhale, transitioning to a spicy, woody, and faint diesel/gas finish on the exhale.
- Dominant Terpenes: Limonene (bright citrus/mood enhancement), Linalool (floral calmness), and Caryophyllene (spicy/anti-inflammatory)
